Key points from NZUAG meeting 17 July 2009

  • MED advise that the Infrastructure Bill is complete, just awaiting formal Cabinet approval before prioritisation and introduction into the House
  • NZUAG will be seeking a formal transition period before full implementation of the Code
  • Key performance indicators for the Code will include
    • Number of Corridor Access Requests
    • Number of completed works, using Works Completion Notices
    • Disputes, resolved and unresolved
    • Number of incidents of third party damage
  • Minimum competency will be incorporated in the next version of the Code. A sub-group has been established to scope the project, and will then work with the wider sector to progress this
  • NZUAG has agreed in principle to become an incorporated society and will be consulting shortly on the details of the proposal
